Welcome to Carr Counselling

Whether you are grieving for a human loved one or a beloved pet, I provide compassionate bereavement support from The Coastal Cabin, on Meols Parade. We can sit there or walk along the prom - or do some of each! I also offer online video sessions.

With many years' experience of counselling in both bereavement charities and the NHS, I promise I will do my best to support you through your grief, helping you to process your feelings and to begin to move forward again in life.

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of bereavement do you support?

I support individuals dealing with loss from both human and pet bereavement, whatever the cause of death and whenever it happened - very recently or many years ago.

What age groups do you support?

My qualifications and experience relate specifically to adult counselling, so you need to be 18 or over to use this service. There's no upper age limit though!

Where are you based?

The Coastal Cabin is on Meols Parade, with a small and cosy indoor space, and easy access to Meols prom. The nearest Merseyrail station is Manor Road, and buses stop on the main road (Birkenhead Road) just the other side of Queen's Park.

I am also availble for online video sessions.

How does Walk and Talk therapy work?

It's just the same as 'normal' counselling, but we walk while talking! Some people feel more relaxed doing this, and some just enjoy the beautiful views. If the weather is poor, we can always return early to The Coastal Cabin and complete the session there. Or if the weather is fine but your legs are tired, we can sit on a bench for a while.

How long is a session?

A session lasts one hour.

What days and times are you available?

I am available during weekdays, but don't work weekends or evenings. My exact availability varies from week from week. I will always do my best to be available on a day and at a time that suits you.

How much do you charge?

A session costs £40. If you need bereavement support but are unable to afford this amount, please tell me when you email and I will do my best to offer you a rate that is affordable to you - or to help you find a charitable service.

How can I pay?

You can pay in cash, by bank transfer or by debit/credit card.

"Grief is like the ocean; it comes in waves, ebbing and flowing. Sometimes the water is calm, and sometimes it is overwhelming. All we can do is learn to swim."
